Due to our growth, we are currently seeking a Project Manager for our Charlotte, NC office. This position will provide project management and design on various water and sewer projects involving Charlotte Water, City of Charlotte, NC Department of Transportation, and other clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain project status lists and reports;
• Assist with proposal write-ups and distribution;
• Maintain client contact lists;
• Scan websites for potential projects, NCDOT, Municipalities;
• Administer and attend project meetings;
• Perform field visits and field investigations;
• Meet with utility companies on a regular basis on projects;
• Facilitate the execution of various utility agreements with agencies;
• Provide project progress reports and write-ups;
• Manage and provide support to other personnel within company;
• Develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management;
• Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids from contractors;
• Determine project specifications by studying design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates;
• Determine project schedules by studying project plans and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements;
• Maintain project schedules by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems;
• Control project plans by reviewing designs, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions;
• Control project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts;
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions;
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations;
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• BS Degree in Civil Engineering
• Prior water and sewer design experience with State Agencies (i.e. NCDOT) and municipalities (i.e. City of Charlotte/Charlotte Water)
• Prior management experience
• In-depth understanding of water and sewer utility infrastructure
• Knowledge of NC Department of Transportation methods and procedures for water and sewer design
• Ability to comprehend government procedures as they relate to highway projects and water and sewer facilities
• Minimum of ten (10) years of water and sewer experience
